The Koori Youth Crime Prevention Grants program acknowledges that Koori young people have disproportionately high rates of disadvantage and are significantly overrepresented in the criminal justice system.
In 2016-17, $1.5 million in grants funding was allocated to 25 Koori youth crime prevention projects. These grants are overseen by the Department of Justice and Regulation’s Koori Justice Unit and coordinated by nine Regional Aboriginal Justice Advisory Committees.
These projects are currently delivering a range of early intervention, prevention and diversion programs. A full list of the funded projects is available below.
