Applications for the Community Safety Infrastructure Grants are now closed.
The Community Safety Infrastructure Grants (CSIG) support improved public infrastructure to strengthen community safety, security and confidence in public places and support local economic activity.
The one-off grants provided Victorian councils and not-for-profit community organisations, that own or manage community facilities, with funding of between $25,000 and $500,000 (GST excl)
Projects have a primary focus on strengthening public safety and security infrastructure to help prevent crime and improve perceptions of safety using situational or environmental approaches.
Supporting economic stimulus
The program is part of the government’s $2.7 billion Building Works package aimed at getting thousands of Victorians back to work and assisting communities to recover from the impacts of coronavirus (COVID-19) emergency.
Successful projects demonstrated a commitment to supporting local or Victorian suppliers, contractors and businesses in the purchase and installation of infrastructure and the delivery of complementary activities. Find out more about the Victorian Government’s Social Procurement Framework (External link).
Tenders generated by the program will require contractors to find new employees through the Working for Victoria program (External link) to maximise opportunities for Victorians who have lost employment over the course of the coronavirus (COVID-19) emergency.
