Applications for the 2019-20 Public Safety Infrastructure Fund grants are now closed.  

The Public Safety Infrastructure Fund (PSIF) grants are for the development of public safety and security infrastructure to improve community safety, security and confidence in public places. 

Funding available

Grants between $20,000 and $250,000 (GST excl) are available per application. 

Who can apply?

Victorian councils only.

Councils may apply for funding on behalf of the community organisations that own or manage facilities that are widely used and are freely accessible to all members of the local community.

Types of projects to be funded

  • streetscape and amenity improvements in public areas designed to minimise the risk of crime and support safe behaviour
  • vandal-resistant lighting systems and other physical security or safety measures
  • physical elements of public place Closed Circuit Television systems (CCTV).
