The Victorian Government has established a Crime Prevention Taskforce to help shape a new crime prevention agenda for Victoria.

The Taskforce will be chaired by the Minister for Crime Prevention and includes leaders from sport, community, media, industry and business. Taskforce members will meet regularly over the next 12 months to come up with new and innovative ideas that address the key factors of offending. These programs could include including job placements, mentoring support & educational assistance for at-risk Victorians.

This work is part of the $5 million allocated in the 2019/20 Victorian Budget to better address the causes of crime, as well as identifying new pathways to work and training, and initiatives focused on safe homes and communities.
