Applications for grants are now open for the Public Safety Infrastructure Fund and Community Safety Fund, encouraging communities to design solutions to local crime and community safety issues.
The popular Public Safety Infrastructure Fund supports Victorian councils to develop public safety and security infrastructure to improve community safety, security and confidence in public places.
Grants of up to $250,000 are available to support projects using good urban design and technology, including CCTV and lighting for example, to help improve community safety, security and confidence in public places.
The Community Safety Fund grants provide funding of up to $10,000 for community organisations and councils to deliver practical projects responding to a crime prevention issue within the local community.
Projects that may be eligible include security improvements at community facilities, small-scale, physical improvements to make public spaces safer and local crime education and awareness initiatives.
These grants are part of the Victorian Government’s Community Crime Prevention Program which helps promote community safety and prevent crime in communities across Victoria.
