Victorian councils can apply now for grants of up to $250,000 to improve public safety and security infrastructure.

Applications for funding through the Public Safety Infrastructure Fund are now open and will close on Friday 2 August 2019.

The grants support the development of infrastructure to improve community safety, security and confidence in public places. Projects which may be eligible include those which adopt good urban design and technology to activate an area and/or minimise the risk of crime and support safe behaviour, such as streetscape improvements, lighting and CCTV.

Last year, 20 projects across Victoria were funded under the program.

These grants are part of the Victorian Government’s Community Crime Prevention Program which helps promote safety and prevent crime in communities across Victoria.

Further information about these grants, including the grants guidelines and the online application form, can be found on the Public Safety Infrastructure Fund page (External link).
