Victorian councils can apply now for grants of up to $250,000 for the development of public safety and security infrastructure to improve community safety and confidence in public places.
The grants will support projects using good urban design and technology, including CCTV and lighting, to help improve community safety, security and confidence in public places.
Councils can also apply for funding on behalf of the community organisations that own or manage facilities that are widely used and freely accessible to all members of the local community.
The grants are part of the Victorian Government’s Community Crime Prevention Program which helps promote community safety and prevent crime in communities across Victoria.
Applications close on Friday 20 July 2018. Guidelines, Frequently Asked Questions and links to the application form can be found on the Public Safety Infrastructure Fund grants page. A number of useful resources including video presentations, a guide to developing CCTV and a crime prevention evaluation toolkit are also available on the page.
