Victorian councils are invited to apply for grants of up to $250,000 for the development of public safety and security infrastructure to improve community safety and confidence in public places.
The grants will support projects using good urban design and technology, including CCTV and lighting, to help improve community safety, security and confidence in public places.
Councils can also apply for funding on behalf of community organisations that own or manage facilities that are widely used and freely accessible to all members of the local community.
An information forum to assist councils intending to apply for a grant will be held in Melbourne on Wednesday 9 August 2017. This event will also be livestreamed via a webinar format. Registrations essential.
The grants are part of the Victorian Government’s Community Crime Prevention Program which helps promote community safety and prevent crime in communities across Victoria.
Applications close on Monday 25 September 2017. Guidelines, Frequently Asked Questions and links to the application form can be found on the Public Safety Infrastructure Fund grants page.
