In 2015, the then Parliamentary Secretary for Justice, Mr Ben Carroll MP, undertook a review of the Community Crime Prevention Program. The review considered the effectiveness of the program in supporting communities to prevent crime.
Mr Carroll reviewed local, national and international evidence about best practice in community crime prevention and undertook broad stakeholder consultation in developing his report. This included meeting a wide range of academics, community organisations, local government and other key agencies, as well as visiting a number of communities to hear and see first-hand the positive impacts of programs funded under the Community Crime Prevention Program.
